beliefs and practices

various things i think are true based on what have observed and some things i do as a result. listed in no particular order

🌌 i'm an agnostic atheist. i don't believe that there is any sort of god as described in any of the theistic religions humans have developed because it seems extremely unlikely and very anthropocentric (the universe is so big!), and i don't think there's currently any way of knowing if there is some sort of higher power or if our universe exists inside some other system

☸️ i'm some sort of buddhist. i think gautama buddha had some incredibly profound ideas about the nature of life and suffering and how to be free from suffering, and i try to be aware of this, practice nonattachment, live in the present, etc. i'm still pretty new to buddhism so as i learn more and understand things more clearly this blurb will probably change and improve

✊ i'm an antifascist and radical leftist. i agree with a lot of marxists and anarchists and i think we need to abolish capitalism, mutual aid is very important, workers must own the means of production, and trotsky was pretty cool , but i probably need to read more theory or something

⚧️ i'm a radical feminist. rachel has a very good explanation of what this means, but tl;dr i believe that misogyny and transmisogyny are very big problems and i fight for the abolition of the patriarchy. "misandry" does not exist and it annoys me greatly when people use that word (and by extension, same goes for "transmisandry")

🌱 i'm trying to reduce the amount of meat i eat, with the goal of eventually being able to call myself a vegetarian. i think that eating meat directly contributes to the suffering of other creatures on this planet, so if i have a reasonable option to avoid this i should do so

πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ bodily autonomy is really fucking cool. everyone should be free to modify their own body as they see fit

🐱 i'm tiny adorable kitty cat 🐈
