my transition
i'm a transgender woman. at the time of writing i've been transitioning medically for almost 4 years and i've been out to the people in my day-to-day life for around 3.5 years. my transness is an integral part of my identity, it is a beautiful thing
i used to identify as nonbinary (and not as a woman) but this is not the case anymore. i think this was in large part because it was much easier for me to realize my discomfort with masculinity than to become comfortable with femininity on account of how, from an early age, our incredibly misogynist society drills it into us that femininity is bad (especially when "men" do it). i hope it goes without saying that this shouldn't be used as an excuse to invalidate nonbinary people
medical stuff i've done/am doing
i think bodily autonomy is very cool so i like talking about stuff i've done to my body to make it mine
- HRT, specifically:
- estrogen monotherapy via weekly estradiol cypionate injections
- progesterone 200mg rectally every night
- facial feminization surgery
- stage 1 (december 2024): type 3 forehead reconstruction and setback via hairline incision, bilateral temple rotational advancement (to improve hairline shape), orbital rim and forehead reconstruction, hairline advance, brow lift, reduction genioplasty (chin reduction), osteopathy of mandibular angles (mandible reduction)
- stage 2 (december 2025): rhinoseptoplasty (including bilateral inferior turbinate submucous resection), fat transfers to cheeks
- orchiectomy (march 2026)
- some laser hair removal on my body and electrolysis on my face
- sometime soon i'm going to try domperidone for breast growth and lactation
i'm not really sure if i want to get vaginoplasty or when i would get it - i think that if i could press a button and magically have the final result without going through recovery i probably would, but it's not my biggest priority rn and recovery sounds like a lot. i'm very happy with orchi results, at least for now that will do
i've been fortunate enough to have insurance that covered all of this (i definitely couldn't have afforded it otherwise). despite that, getting coverage and reimbursement has been quite the uphill battle - i've gotten pretty good at dealing with insurance companies, filing complaints with state offices, etc, so if you ever need help with any of that or have any questions about how i did it pls reach out!!

this section needs more stuff added to it!
genderdysphoria.fyi is what made me realize that i'm trans. if you don't already identify as trans i highly recommend reading it, it's an incredible resource and the best description of transness and dysphoria i've found to date.
