- luckily i have a pretty big stockpile of them. when i run out i will probably switch to either 3m aura or powecom kn95
- elastomeric respirator: gvs elipse p100
- i don't wear this a ton, pretty much only on flights. it's honestly not super comfortable for me and kinda annoying with glasses, maybe i should get a different P100
- keyport pivot 2.0, to hold my keys like a swiss army knife
- mine is the yubico x keyport edition :3
- i absolutely love this thing. the company seems maybe a bit suspiciously patriotic? idk , if mine broke or i lost it i would buy a replacement in a heartbeat (or try making my own), i could not imagine life without it
- water bottle: 24oz hydro flask
- earplugs: alpine musicsafe pro
- fountain pen: pilot varsity
- i find fountain pens help a lot with writing-related pain caused by my hEDS
- i have a lamy al-star but the ink keeps drying up :( meanwhile i've had the same disposable pilot varsity for years and it is still writing great
- narcan, hand sanitizer (3m avagard), nail clippers, flash drive, pepper spray, small power bank, whistle, various fidget toys, maybe some snacks, medications i have to take in the middle of the day
- cheapest collapsible cane i could possibly buy
- other things i typically have in my backpack: flipper zero, magstripe reader, various stickers, ibuprofen and acetaminophen, more narcan, condoms, snacks, laptop/charger, headphones, rhythm game controller i built, usb-c hub dongle
hardware hacking
- soldering station: hakko fx-951
- hakko fa-400 fume extractor
- hakko 611-2 dual solder spool stand
- solder: lead free sac305 from varying sources
- if you've only ever used cheap lead free solder, do yourself a favor and try a bit of this. it is so much better
- flux: chipquik syringe of some kind
- solder wick: mg chemicals super wick
- seriously why does every other solder wick suck. this is the only one that works well that i can find. maybe it just has a ridiculous amount of flux in it
- 3d printer: prusa i3 mk3s, heavily modified
- diy bmg extruder upgrade, taurus z axis, klipper, skr mini e3 v3, bondtech cht nozzle, y axis belt tensioner, ...
- filament: california filament (PETG), bambu (some PETG, PLA)
- affiliate link for california filament. this will give you 25% off your first order and will give me $8 in reward points
- i realize putting this here biases me a bit but you will have to trust me that i genuinely do recommend this brand. they have so many pretty colors and also free shipping and a seemingly good return policy (haven't tested it though). as of writing i have given them about $70 of my own money
- cnc mill: othermill kickstarter edition. got it at a surplus store in WA for $25, it's a very silly little device
- cnc router: inventables x-carve 1000mm
- still in my parents' garage because i do not live somewhere with space for it
- oscilloscope: rigol dho804 (modded to unlock higher bandwidth/other features)
- it runs android, i've installed a launcher onto it and various apps because it is very funny to browse fedi on an oscilloscope
- multimeter: uni-t ???
- preferred microcontroller
- teensy 4 for stuff that needs it (processing power, IO, audio, etc)
- rp2040 otherwise because it is very cheap and widely supported
- embedded firmware: rust, maybe with an rtos
- or sometimes c/platformio/arduino for smaller projects
- some day i will try to get ocaml running on a microcontroller
